Sweet innocent Ainsley

Just thought I would share the mischief the little princess was getting into. I was in the room watching her do it, so it is my fault, but she was having such a great time.

Hi all,

How about a day in the life. Sometimes I just sit and wonder at where my day has gone. I decided I needed to write it down to see what I have been up to. So here goes.

5:45 Baby girl Ainsley has decided she would like to arise early today. She thinks she is famished, so she gets breakfast in bed. She is still nursing, but only 2 times a day. Morning and night. Makes our days a bit more flexible. She is already 11 months. Where has the time gone.

6:22 Wyatt comes waltzing into the bedroom, ready to snuggle as well. Ainsley has finished up and is just nestling back to sleep, when one of her favorite people gives her a little jolt. She lights up when Wyatt comes around. So there are now 4 in the bed.

6:30ish (now I don't even bother looking at the clock) here comes Holden. His usual place in the bed is already full, so it is a mad hunt for a different spot. He ends up snuggled in next to Mike. Well Wyatt is ready to go for the day, so there is no real snuggling going on. It is pretty much a battle against the very pointy elbows my son seems to have.

Sometime after that Brandt comes in feeling better after having a pretty good stomach ache again last night. He also wants a spot on the cozy queen sized bed, so I decide I had better get up and get out of the way.

Pre 7:00 I head to the laundry room to take a load out of the dryer and move the diapers over. I started them last night, so they were done and ready to be moved. While I am down there, I peak down the hall and realize Ainsley has disappeared. I think she has just moved out the doorway, so I ran down there and couldn't find her. I start calling for her, and hear Holden in his room say, "She's in here." When I walk in and ask if she just came crawling in, he says, "No, I brought her in here." Well anyway, the mystery of the missing baby is solved, and I am able to go back to where I was, in the laundry room. Wyatt comes down and wants to get his dress on, which means he wants to get dressed. I get him dressed after taking a break to do something, and chasing him down finally threatening that if he doesn't stand still he will be naked all day. That is not a good thing for my kids, thank goodness, and he stood still long enough for me to get him dressed.

I think it is about 7:00 and Mike has headed downstairs to start Saturday morning pancakes. I love Saturday morning pancakes, because it means I can get dressed in relative peace, though I still had Ainsley, and all I really had time for was to get dressed. After that, I took Ainsley downstairs so she could gobble down her pancakes as well. She loves pancakes, and I like them too because she can feed herself. While she does that, I make my mocha, heaven in a cup. I also take a couple of minutes to quickly check my email.

8:00 I still need to put a little make up on, so I head back up stairs with Wyatt and Ainsley and the 2 big boys play in the basement. I have a couple minutes to put on foundation, eyeshadow, mascara and lip gloss. No five minute face for me, mine is more like a minute and a half. After I have done that, I start making sure all the kids have sweatshirts, the correct uniform, the correct socks, and the correct whatever else they may have needed. We start loading the car at

8:30. Once the kids are in the car, I can get a few minutes of quiet to try and remember everything we might need during the day. I grab a couple of extra diapers, and head out the door. We leave about 8:40.

8:55 We get to the gym where Holden is playing his game. During his practice we have to try and keep the other 3 under control. Luckily, Brandt hooked up with a bunch of other boys and played a little basketball of his own. He had a good time. Wyatt just played around, and stayed off the court pretty well.

10:00 Game over, and we ran to Home Depot. I wanted to get some paint to finish up a couple of rooms in the house. 3 years and I am finally getting to them.

11:00 Home and time to make lunch. Brandt has a game at 1:00 so we need to be back in the car by 12:30. Lunch is served at 11:30ish and cleaned up by about 12:10. I sat down and started writing this, because I had a couple of quiet minutes.

12:24 Started to load up the car. Had to make sure we had all the correct socks and uniforms again. Made it out of the house by 12:35 and to the game by 12:50. Kids are supposed to be there 15 minutes early. We were almost on time.

2:00 Game over and I want a mocha freeze, so Mike runs by Costco for me, then we take a short drive trying to give the little kids a quick nap. Wyatt zonks out and sleeps for about 30 minutes, then we have to wake him for Brandt's 2nd game of the day.

3:00 Game number 2 starts. Lots of fun. The little boys play on the climbing wall that is located in the gym. Keeps them from getting too bored.

4:00 Done with game and we get to head home. I fixed dinner, with Mikes help. BBQue in the snow. Isn't that great.

5ish We sat down and ate. It is so nice to have the entire family at the table. Even little Ainsley likes to sit up at the table with us. We enjoyed a lot of nice conversation.

6:00 Dinner is cleaned up and the boys are getting restless. Brandt was starting to get a stomach ache, so we went upstairs and gave him and Ainsley their baths early.

After books and baths, Brandt, Wyatt and Ainsley were in bed by 7:00. Holden was in bed by 7:30. By 8:00 Mike and I were in the hot tub, and then we hung out and went to sleep around 10:30. Ainsley woke us at 11:30 with the croup, and so ended Saturday, with her unhappy and exhausted.

That in a nutshell is a day in my life. I am sure it seems boring to you, but looking back, I realize why I am so tired at the end of the day.

Love you all.

We need spring

This pictures demonstrate how desperately my kids need spring. Holden was just fine playing on top of the really hard packed snow with his shorts on. He was having a great time. He didn't even complain about being cold. We need spring!!!!!!

Time for some basketball

Oh my adorable boys. Holden is playing his first year of Y-winner basketball. He is having a great time, but spends a lot of time telling everyone what to do. Including the coach. It is quite interesting. Brandt is taking part in Upward basketball. What a neat program. They get to run onto the court with lights and smoke, and the starters get their name announced. It has been the coolest thing. We are enjoying watching the boys have so much fun on the basketball court. I sure have great memories from when I was young. Hopefully they will too.
